About Me

My name is Samuel Dallaire Thibault and I'm from Quebec City, Canada. Born in 1991, I've been into music production since I'm 8-year-old. I began to explore the world of music with toys such as the old Ejay softwares. After a music class in high school, I got that passion for composing true music. I learned the guitar back then and that's when I also learned the basics of music. Unfortunately, the school stopped to give guitar lessons and I had no choice but to forget about it. A year later, I decided to learn the keyboard by myself and I finally bought a new guitar a couple of years later.

In 2006 I first learned about a psytrance act called Infected Mushroom. That's how I discovered PsyTrance music. What I liked about Infected Mushroom is the merge they do between PsyTrance and any other type of music. In the summer of 2006, I founded the project Electromagnésium. My goal was to show to people at school the beauty of PsyTrance. I was really good at the time..... ok, maybe not.

In October 2006, music became much more important to me. What was a simple hobby quickly became a passion and even a lifestyle. I was also very disappointed about the music most people were listening to. I've been a rock fan for years. I love electronic music. I love classical music a lot. But I can't handle today's pop music. So I gave myself a mission and that mission was to convert people to a new style. A style that merges everything together. I wanted to make people realise that there is so much more than pop outhere. There are so many amazing underground artists and I thougth the best approach was to mix underground music with more open types of music.
So was born Psy Conversion.

As mentionned above, this project is a mix of what I like to listen to. You can find elements from House, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical and so on. All this is based on PsyTrance music. The only rule in my production is it must be melodic. To me it is very important that the track I'm writting could be remixed in any other type of music. I always say "if it can't be played as a symphony, it is not music". Some people don't agree with me but this is how I see things.

Finally, since 2009, I build myself a respectable studio and I am now looking forward into professionnal productions.

I also masterise my own music. I want to do everything from the writting to the making of my website! I studied in audio engineering and now I study in computer science. Those are the two passions of my life and I hope I can mix them together in the future. What I mean here is I plan to go into VST Development.

For those interested in music production, I used Ableton Live back in 2006. In 2008, I decided to move on with Cubase SX3 and I'm more than happy with it. It suits more my needs and I prefer the interface. I now use Cubase5.

Thanks for your interest in my music and I wish you a nice stay.
